When the Mutts are brought out in the games I am taken completely by surprise. It is a twist in the book which was exactly what the book needed. It was starting to get a little boring and this part speeds it up. It is very suspenseful when Cato is choking Peeta and Katniss does not know what to do. She probably would have thought of what to do early but she was tired, thirsty and hungry. She was not thinking straight and what was going on around her was distracting her also. When Cato fell i was happy that Katniss and Peeta would make it out alive but disappointed that an innocent person had to die because the Capitol says so. I think it is horrible that the Capitol has so much power and they cruelly take advantage if their power. I think eventually people will revolt and that will be the end of the Capitol.
I was also surprised when the mutts were brought out. I was really surprised that the mutts were the other contestants, out to seek their revenge on the contestants that killed them.Like Laura said, I was happy that Peeta and Katniss would live, but it was cruel that the Capitol had to take someones life, only for amusement. But I don't think the people will revolt against the Capitol because if they lose another war they won't do the Hunger Games anymore, the Capitol would probably just kill them all.
