Peeta

  1. Peeta I believe is a genuinely kind person. Being thrown in the arena is the worst possible fate for him because of the sure death but also that the only way to survive is to kill others. Peeta seems to have a very mild personality and to be very gentle. He must feel conflicted on how to handle life in the arena. Living will mean ruthlessly killing others and living with their deaths on his conscience for the remainder of his life time. Losing means being killed yourself. Neither is a pleasant option. Peeta also really likes Katniss. So if he wins it means that she dies and he must live without her knowing that he could have saved her. If she wins than he dies. I believe that when they go into the competition he will run off and hide in order to avoid conflict.

  2. Peeta cofuses me. At first he was helping Katniss. Then he wanted to practice sepratly. In the areana he was with the Careers trying to find Katniss. When all the Careers got stung he help Katniss get away. I think that he is staying with the careers so he can stay alive but has no desire to kill Katniss.

  3. I am very confused as well about why Peeta would request to have seperate practices. At first he was playing like he was friends with her and would not let her let go of his hand when they were introduced. Now, I wonder if it was all a game to get Katniss' trust?

  4. I am very confused as well, as why he would want seperate practices. I figured they would want to do all their practices together sense they are becoming friends. I also think he just wants katniss' trust before and during the games. I agree with Robert and how he is staying with the careers to stay alive, but it makes me question whether or not he wants to kill Katniss or he doesn't.
