Peeta

  1. I think throughout the entire book Peeta has an identity that is hard to understand. In the beginning of the book he is of little importance and is only known as the baker's son to Katniss. As the story goes on Katniss learns more and more about Peeta as they interact with each other at the Capitol and the games. In the last chapters of the book Peeta is a big part in Katniss' life and she does everything in her power to protect him while he recovers. Although Peeta has strong feelings for Katniss, Katniss only plays him along in order to survive the games with him up until the end on the train where she finally tells him the truth of the whole mess.

  2. I felt bad for Peeta during these last chapters. Peeta had thought that Katniss truley did love him just as much as he loved her but in the end he found out that she was just acting. After Peeta found out that Katniss was unsure about her feelings for him, I think Peeta convinced himself that it is best if he forgets about his feelings towards Katniss. I can't wait to start reading the second book to find out what will happen between Katniss and Peeta.

  3. i think peeta was very dissapointed when he realized that the "romance" was fake, at least for Katniss. I think Peeta was very strong to get through having a hurt leg and still climbing up the horn in the arena. I think him saying that he would kill himself to have Katniss live shows his real feelings for her. I hope their relationship will work out and it will become a real romance for Katniss!!!

  4. I believe that Peeta was completely broken when Katniss told him that she did not actually love her. I believe that in the beginning Peeta did not love Katniss as much as he said he did. But at the end he had fully fallen in love with her and I suspect he thought she loved just as much. Though he probably had his doubts just as Katniss had hers. My heart goes out to Peeta as Katniss mistakenly tells Peeta she does not love him back. I would never talk to Katniss again if I were him, I would be too embarassed. But even though Katniss does not love him I think the worse part is that he probably stills loves her. The boy with the bread.

  5. I felt bad of for Petta when Katniss told him that she did not really love him. I really thought that the loved each other and would go back being a couple. I think that he still loves her and a part of him always will. I hope that at the end they change and it is a real realation ship.

  6. I agree with Laura, on how he probably didn't love her as much in the beginning as he does know. I felt terrible for Peeta with the whole situation with Katniss! I thought the only reason Katniss told him that she didn't really love him was because she was confused with everything going on and especially with Gale. Peeta must feel embarassed and heartbroken! He really did love Katniss but she ruined it. I think Peeta did the right think by ignoring her, I just wished they made up.

  7. I think that Peeta is getting all he wants in his life, Katniss. I think Peeta loves it when Katniss kisses him. I was happy and not that shocked when Peeta was never trying to hurt Katniss. I had a hunch that Peeta was only trying to help Katniss. When Peeta was hurt I thought it was kind of funny how he tried the romantic tactic with Katniss even though he was badly injured. I think that Peeta will risk his life for Katniss. I think it was hilarious how Peeta yells out ‘watch this Effie’ and then licks his plate. I thought it was funny how Peeta and Katniss both thought that Peeta should go and collect plants or something. I think fate knew that the fox face girl would come and grab Peeta’s berries. I thought it was kind of ironic how after the fox face girl had been stealing all the supplies she finally died from Peeta’s mistake. I like it how Peeta can just quickly assume what the game makers want. This happens in chapter 23 when Peeta says they should go to the lake because the game makers dried up all the other water. I thought Peeta’s idea was very well thought out. I would have never of thought to have marked an X on someone’s hand while I was being choke. I thought that when both Katniss and Peeta were going to kill themselves I truly felt like they both loved each a lot. I think that Peeta was truly hurt when Katniss told him that she didn’t like him.
