Gale seems like he really cares about Katniss. Reading about him and Katniss, makes me aggrivated! It seems to me that Katniss and Gale have the type of "I love you as a friend" relationship, but really they love eachother. Katniss said that it made her jelous that Gale likes other girls. Also, Gale seems like he really cares for Katniss! I think they are meant for eachother! Gale seems smart, but he is stubborn, he doesn't no what Katniss feels for him.
I politely disagree with Abigail. Gale and Katniss in my opinion are more like siblings than lovers. True, they are very close but they can only be themselves in the woods. They joke and laugh but in my opinion will never be more than friends, their values are too different. They were thrown together by the need to survive but other than that they have little incommon. Protesting the Catpital seems very important to Gale when he is being himself, where as it seems pointless to Katniss. To Gale it is a safe way to release his anger. He may want to rise against the Capital but he knows it would be futile and maybe result in District Twelve's destruction. In the end the yelling will get him nowhere. Katniss however does not see the point in wasting her time yelling where no one can hear you. She seems like a very productive girl who only invests her time in things that help her. So Katniss does not understand Gale and why he rants while it changes nothing.
When Prim's name is called and Katniss volunteers instead Gale is broken. This is because he wants to be the one to try to pull her back. Instead of the one holding back Prim who is the one trying to pull Katniss back. But Gale knows that if he is that does it will make it that much harder for Katniss to say her goodbyes. I believe that Gale has fallen in love with Katniss but Katniss does not love Gale in that way. Katniss loves Gale in a brotherly sort of way. So when Gale tells her to remember something Katniss doesn't know what he could trying to say but I believe that he wanted to say that he loved her. Gale loves her with all of his heart but Katniss doesn't want to love anyone for the fear they might have children. Katniss doesn't want to have children because she want to her child to go through any suffering at all that Katniss has no control over.
