i think that when Peeta announced that he likes Katniss in Chapter 9, he meant it. Haymitch might have told him to say it, but he actually liked Katniss. I thought it was also smart but dangerous of him to make a group with the careers. Petta knew the careers wanted to find Katniss, so I think he made a group with them to try to lead them away. I think Peeta could end up losing his life because of this, or he might be able to get away.
I thought it was very interesting how Peeta has changed in chapters 9-12. Personally I think he is trying to set up the career tributes. I never would have guessed that peter would go and finish a person off especially a girl. At first I thought Peeta was a nice person who cared about weather or not he hurt someone, but now I see he doesn't care who he hurts or kills. I do not believe that Peeta will give up the information on how Katniss received an eleven. Mainly in these chapters I enjoyed how Peeta gives you a bunch of surprises. For instances how Peeta is now good with knifes and know how to hurt someone with it. I can't wait to see what will happen next.
i agree with both of you, but I also am very confused whether or not peeta meant what he said about loving Katniss. Was it just a game? Also, the group he formed with the careers confused me as to whether he wanted them to find Katniss or he wanted them to not find her. How would he have known where she was to lead them away?
I agree with Hadley, in whether or not Peeta really meant that he loved Katniss or was it just for the audiences attention. He is really intriguing to me. I also thought Peeta was a nice guy but the farther I get into the book my opinion on him changes. Peeta puts the twist in the book and you won't know what he will do next.
